Thank you for visiting my shop.

For those of you who do not know what a cyanotype is, I have provided some info below:

Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that produces a distinctive cyan-blue print. The process uses two chemicals: Ammonium iron(III) citrate and Potassium ferricyanide.

Combined these chemicals result in a photo-sensitive solution when dissolved in water, which is used to coat a material (usually paper). A positive image can be produced by exposing it to a source of ultraviolet light (such as sunlight) with a negative. The developing of the picture takes place by flushing it with flowing water. The water-soluble iron(III) salts are washed away, while the non-water-soluble Prussian blue remains in the paper. This is what gives the picture its typical blue color.

Because each item is made individually, no two prints will ever look alike.

Additional policies and FAQs
All pictures are signed by the artist on the back right hand corner. A signature on the front can be provided upon request.

Due to the photo developing process used to make these prints I recommend hanging them in areas that do not receive direct sunlight. Direct sunlight may cause the images to fade over time. If fading does occur, the image color can be restored by placing the print in a dark, cool place. After a few days the image will have returned to it's original appearance.
