Adorable keychain -- but 10 days after using it the threads got all crazy from use, and I'll probably take it off soon. Brass looks great.

Its really cute but the wire earring part is a bit flimsy, very delicate!
Hi, my name is Clare. My Etsy shop and handmade business, A WAYS AWAY, was founded in 2011 when I started making jewelry in my tiny studio apartment in Paris, France. Since moving to Brooklyn, NY in 2012, I’ve had more room to experiment with new materials and acquire new skills, which in turn has allowed me to expand my business.
The materials and techniques that I use in my products are largely inspired by the those that my parents and grandparents used in their own work. I love that the materials that I use, the products that I make, with the hands that I was given, are all things that remind me of those I hold most close to my heart.
My upbringing has without a doubt shaped my constant curiosity to seek out the story behind the product by teaching me that the true pleasure lies in the making, not the final result. A WAYS AWAY was born from a desire to explore the past, wander the present and discover the future - or as I like to put it, the "a ways away".
Thank you for stopping by to learn more about the person behind A WAYS AWAY products. You can find me on Instagram @awaysaway, on Twitter @claremcgibbon, or you should you have any questions, you can also contact me directly through Etsy.

If you should ever have a problem with your A WAYS AWAY jewelry, I ask that you please give me the opportunity to make it right. I believe in, and stand behind, everything I create. I love my work and want you to love it, too.
Custom orders are non-refundable. Thanks for your understanding.
Additional policies and FAQs
You may have noticed that I use brass in alot of my work. It is a romantic metal with a vintage twist and without the hefty pricetag of gold.
If you dont like that tarnished charm like I do, adding shine and luster to your newly aquired brass jewelry is not a difficult task. Besides a thorough rinse in hot water, brass can be easily cleaned by using a mixture of lemon juice/vinegar and salt or a common brass polish.
I carefully source my brass to ensure it is lead and nickel free.
Please keep in mind that the colors of the item(s) you order will vary oh so very slightly from the colors depicted on your screen due to different screen calibrations.
I love custom projects! I can create custom collections for everything from weddings to birthdays. Please contact me here: http://www.etsy.com/conversations/new?with=awaysaway for more information.
