I started sewing at a very young age with training from my grandmother. With her help, I learned how to design and create my own sewn products and quickly found my love for the art of sewing. I took a job at a local New England sail loft where I improved my skills and learned how to work with heavy canvas materials while sewing sails and marine upholstery.
My grandmother passed away shortly after my first daughter was born. She had given me an amazing gift, one which always reminds me of her, the special time we shared, and one that I truly love. My second daughter came and while taking care of my girls, I spent many hours designing my own children's outfits, home decor items and custom bags for friends and family. After receiving great feedback on my products I finally decided to launch a business that would allow me to offer my designs to the public. In August 2014, my b*Life by Sonya store was officially launched. I truly owe a special thanks to my grandmother for teaching me my craft and to my beautiful girls for being my inspiration.
