My shop was started by my baby.

When my daughter was around 18 months old, her diapers were dry after naps. I started potty training with her blindly, by having her in underwear right away. Can you imagine all the things and spots she went potty on? Pants, socks, shoes, high chair, car seat, daddy's lap, carpet, even our dining room table (She climbed there to "read" newspaper...I had asked her if she needed to go potty seconds before the incidence). Life was not fun with so much urine in it :-).

I asked other mothers. They said there was a thing called potty training pants. First I bought cloth potty training pants. They were just thicker than underwear, not waterproof. Then I bought plastic potty training pants. They were the worst product human ever made, making terrible sound when child walks in them, dripping water to floor when trying to remove them. Later I also bought cloth diapers. They were well made, were waterproof, didn't make noise. But they were bulky and leaked. I soon realized they leaked because they were premade with average body measurements of older babies, they were loose around leg openings for my daughter. In order to solve the problem, I knew I have to make potty training pants myself that fit perfectly around my daughter's legs.

That's how I started from scratch: buying a sewing machine, teaching myself how to use a sewing machine, searching high and low for the material to make waterproof pants, designing the pants pattern by trial and error. You can imagine I made several versions of the pants. Months had passed. By the time I made the last satisfactory version of the pants, my daughter was almost potty independent, just a few accidents in the pants to surprise me: The pants were completely waterproof, exactly what I had needed from the beginning. What a help if I had them in the very beginning!

That's all before ETSY. A friend of mine was talking to another friend of mine one day. I eavesdropped the name of ETSY. I immediately asked about it. The rest is history.

What is a help to me as a parent must help other parents I figure. Children potty training pants were the first product I had in my shop. It's still the mostly sold items in my shop. I extended to adult incontinence potty training pants after people have been asking for them because they saw me make pants based on individual body measurements, which is what set my potty training pants apart fom others.

I also extended to make children costumes, iPad smart cover, stand and tote in one, and a few other things. I have multiple interests. I'm also always transforming trash to treasure.
