Announcement   Welcome to Back Creek Clay located in historic Philipsburg, Montana. I originally began making pottery in the far western mountains of North Carolina. My husband and I decided to move closer to our grandkids and, in 2014, we moved all the way across the country to Montana where we opened our brick and mortar shop, Back Creek Pottery on Broadway Avenue in Philipsburg, MT. Most of my pottery is functional, but I also make pottery mushrooms for the garden and whimsical pottery birdhouses. You can find a photo gallery of my work at http://www.backcreekpottery.com. I am a member of the Made in Montana program which lends support to business people who make or grow their products in Montana.

Welcome to Back Creek Pottery located in the far western North Carolina mountains. I am in the very southwestern part of the state, 1.5 miles from Georgia to the south and 8 miles to Tennessee to the west. My husband and I relocated here a few years ago and gave up the city life for a much smaller house and a slower way of life. Unable to find a job when we moved, I started playing with clay in a local studio. I fell in love with pottery and started taking lessons at nearby John C. Campbell Folk School and private lessons from local potters. I never knew what my dream job was until then. I gave up my profession as a paralegal and started making pottery. Now my husband and I exhibit in about 25 shows a year in northern Georgia and western North Carolina. Thanks for visiting with me on etsy. I love to email, so please contact me with any questions you may have.

Payment
I accept checks and Paypal. Checks must clear the bank before I ship. There is a $25 charge for returned checks. If you must cancel an order, you must agree to pay any shipping fees I have incurred. I will ship as soon as possible once I receive payment by Paypal, usually within one to three days.
Shipping
I will ship the most economical way possible. Small items will ship by USPS, sometimes priority mail. Larger items will ship by FedEx. I may be able to adjust shipping prices with a definite location, so convo me prior to making payment to see if I can lower shipping. Buyer may add on any shipping preferences at their expense. International shipping expenses will be fully paid by the buyer. If Buyer wants insurance, they must request and pay for the insurance. There is automatic coverage on FedEx shipping. I will package pottery as carefully as possible and will not be responsible for breakage or damage. Buyer must purchase insurance to cover any damage.
Refunds and Exchanges
I try to give exact descriptions of items, however, if not satisfied, I will refund money less any shipping or other expenses I have incurred. Buyer must returm item to me in the same condition as when I shipped it and pay all shipping expenses. I will work with Buyer to resolve problems.
Additional policies and FAQs
I will take custom orders for pottery. I will wholesale but not consign. I need at least 6 weeks for custom orders, due to drying time for clay.
