Bought this as a gift and it smells soooo good even unopened! The honey straw was so sweet and thoughtful. Thanks!

About

Started from the love for beekeeping, Backyard Bee was founded by Stacey and Brian Shamis in Greenville,SC

When asked what is Backyard Bee, it always makes us smile! To tell the story, we go back to a cold winters night in January of 2015 around the fireplace in our living room.

We always wanted to start a business were we could work together and love what we did. Sitting there on that winter's night thinking about our honey bees with a candle lit nearby, it came to us! What about a candle line that mimicked honey varietals like what we harvested from our bees? Yeah, we really liked that idea the more we dwelled upon it!

We set out to study different scents and started with four. The first scent, and hardest to make, was Tupelo. Through countless trials and many months of just trying to get it right, we found what we believe to be a fantastic scent that does this great honey justice. We then moved on to Wildflower, Sourwood and our seasonal scent, Bee Merry!

The last piece of this story was how do we give back? As beekeepers ourselves and knowing the struggles that come with beekeeping, we thought the best way to give back was to support local beekeepers though education and contributions. So for every Backyard Bee candle that is sold, we donate a portion to promote education and research to save the bees!

Please join us in our journey and know it is only possible from the great people that purchase our products. As we continue this journey, we will have more great products to offer!

Thank you,

Stacey and Brian
