This is an absolutely stunning necklace and beautifully well made. The painterly quality of the design is particularly lovely and unique. Arrived yesterday and I can't wait to wear it!

The Story of Birch, Please!

During my final year of my illustration degree I experimented with applying my illustrations to shrink plastic, making jewellery out of them, and fell in love with the idea. After nearly 2 years I grew tired of burning my fingers and having scars on my hand where the scissors would rub, so I shifted into having items laser cut for me.

Another year went by and I invested in my own laser cutter. After 6 months of focusing mainly on hand-painted laser cut items I made the scary but exciting decision to make an even larger investment for my business. I now have a flatbed printer, with which I can print my illustrations directly onto wood or acrylic before I laser cut the shapes.

I'm incredibly proud to have come such a long way, from burning my fingertips on shrink plastic to fulfilling my dream of having my own laser cutter (a dream I've had since first using one at school when I was 13), and beyond. And I feel so grateful to my customers over the years for enabling me to do so, and making it possible for me to make a living how I've always wanted: being self employed, and making beautiful things. Thank you.

Frequently asked questions

Do you do custom designs?

The short answer is no - I already have a huge list of my own designs I want to work on. However, I do make a note of all requests and if it's something I get a lot of interest in or something I would like to make anyway, it will be added to the list!

Can I have a longer/shorter chain?

Yes, you can! Just pop a note in the Note to Seller section at checkout telling me what length you would like and I will happily make it! There is no extra charge for this. I can also provide silver plated chain upon request!
