How I Started
I opened my Etsy shop (it was then called Bamber Prints) in 2016 after having a (secret) dream of owning a small business selling my illustrations. I was between jobs so it seemed like the perfect time to try. I started with a whale print, and it all grew from there! After a few months of running the shop, I accepted a job which moved me from my home in Surrey, UK to America and I decided to close the shop. Fast forward to May 2020, back in Surrey and in the middle of a pandemic, I decided to try again... It really helped my mental health to have something to focus on in what was a difficult time for everyone.
It's now 2024 and I'm lucky enough to run Catherine Bamber Art *almost* full-time (with a little freelance graphic design work on the side). My style has developed a lot over this time and I have become known for drawing with dots, although I still love to paint and upcycle second-hand finds. I hope my designs can be a reason for people to smile, whether you're buying a treat for yourself, opening a card from a friend or simply scrolling on social media.
The effect I'm having on the environment is a big concern of mine and it's behind every decision I make for my business. I source eco-friendly materials and don't use plastic in my packaging. You can find out more about each product in their descriptions and I'm always researching, discovering and implementing new ways I can do better.
