Welcome to Bananagans! My name is Gina and I’ve been crocheting ever since the age of five, when my grandmother grabbed my hand, slapped a hook and a ball of yarn into it, and muttered “Maybe this’ll shut her up.” From there I went on to make untold quantities of afghans, cozies, and hideous potholders, all of which continue to gunk up my poor parents’ closets and pantries to this very day.

Since then, I’ve managed to tame my incessant hunger for handling hot cookware and have moved on to the finer art of making fuzzy little crimes against nature. I loathe both patterns and unoriginality, and so all of my monstrosities are one-of-a-kind, happy little accidents of experimentation, tomfoolery, and some good old-fashioned insanity.

I'm big on improvisational crafting, and more often than not my finished products in no way resemble what I started out with in my head. This is fine with me. I'm also fine with a little messiness, since I firmly believe that it's okay for handmade items to look handmade. It's a byproduct of an organic design process, and I think that especially with freaky little monsters, it totally works.

Thanks for checking out my shop!

Additional policies and FAQs
With a couple of exceptions, I only make one of everything. I believe that this is a pretty key feature of uniquely designed products. However, if you see an item that I've sold in the past that you simply must have, I'm open to recreating it in another color or slightly tweaking certain elements.

Speaking of which, I'm also completely up for custom projects. So if you’ve got a hankering for a fluorescent orange zombie seahorse pirate accountant with a passion for Joni Mitchell, I’ll be happy to whip one up for you (though I'll also be thoroughly peeved that I didn’t think of it first). If, on the other hand, all you've got is a very vague idea, such as " Yeah." - I can do that too.

I come from a smoke-free home, but please note that I do have two cats.

Finally, I'm a pretty easygoing lass, so hardly any of the above policies are hard and fast rules. Feel free to convo me about absolutely anything, and chances are we can hammer out a plan that will result in happiness and sunshine on both ends.
