Love my bird protectors! The owls are well made with good detail. They arrived quickly and were easily pressed into service since they attach by static cling. I appreciate the tips that come with the protectors too. Thanks so much.

I ordered several of these, along with the owl, to keep the birds from flying in our windows this summer. I plan to order the "cat" one as well.

We have lots of trouble with birds flying in our windows, this is great! The big advantage is that it is easy to remove. The order came very quickly, too, which is always a plus.

About

Window clings are meant to prevent window crashes artfully enough to become part of your decor.

It all began with that heart-stopping "THUNK" and a dead bird beneath the window. I resorted to my graphics training and cut out a paper owl to tape to the window. It seemed to work. Friends wanted them too. When my hands cramped up from gripping an Xacto knife for several hours, it became obvious there had to be a better way. We researched materials and I got in touch with my old friend George at Elite Signs. He worked closely with us to reproduce our images using his printing and vinyl cutting equipment. My partner Richard and I do the original designs, George does the printing and cutting and I then do the "weeding" (peeling away the negative areas) and packaging.

As we develop new designs, I still cut those out by hand...at least until they demonstrate enough popularity to warrant a press run. Paper silhouettes had to be affixed to windows with double tape. Like decals, the residue left behind when the paper was removed was a problem. Now even the hand-cut designs use static cling material that can easily be removed or repositioned.

To minimize the distraction from the view out the window and maximize the visibility to the kamikaze birds, we begin with white material and print the side that will face the room a gunmetal gray.
