In my desire to help our environment, I have currently been trying to only purchase remnant fabrics, vintage, gifted or found fabrics. So many of my blankets will be of limited in stock or one of a kind.
If and when I do purchase a roll of fabric I make sure the vendors are taking our environment into consideration or they are considered 'dead' stock which means that these fabrics were bound for the landfill from big textile producers but purchased by vendors for a secondary market to sell to people like me who are trying to do what we can for the earth. Like with helping homeless animals every little bit helps.

We bought this at the same time as Chemex's own glass stopper—and together they are keeping the coffee hot for an hour and warm for longer. Amazing. Also, since our chemex is so stained and filthy and the wood part held on by a rubber band that used to hold broccoli, the beautiful Cozi makes the whole thing look better on the counter! Rockie, my Heeler/Border mix who forever changed me. The inspiration for my blankets and namesake of my Brand and Shop.
My first BDBlanket, If and when I can ever find this fabric again, I will call it Rockie in her memory.
Team rider Harvy can't be prouder to have this rescued Heeler represent!!
Frida my adopted chi mix that lives up to the terrier in her...but I love her anyway and she loves her bike rides.
My adopted Heeler and water dog "Mana" my forever angel dog.....

Created in a moment of need, Inspired by a Special Dog

The Need - A dog blanket that matched my decor, comfortable yet easy to wash to cover my white couch (my late Rockie's bed) and the need to protect our new cars interior seat.

The Inspiration: My late Rockie pictured above was the inspiration to create my first blanket. Her bed was my white couch, I tried sheets, heavy blankets, I could not find a dog blanket that matched our tropical decor or anything easy enough to wash often. We also had a new car at the time with black cloth interior seats - furniture blankets and beach towels, were ugly or just didn't work. I found the cutest fabric that matched Rockie's personality and my living room decor, trimmed it with adorable dog bone trim that made it 'her' blanket. She looked so cute sitting in the front seat with her own carseat cover. She knew right away that the new blanket on the couch was her's and she would nestle comfortably on it for her naps and at bed time. It was perfect!! I began to give them away as gifts to friends with dogs and everyone told me ' you should sell these'. So that is when I opened my shop on Etsy.

Today: In addition to my on line shop I sell at several Pet Boutiques on Oahu and the mainland. Sadly Rockie passed away but her legacy lives on. Donations are made in her memory and her happy face graces the tags on every blanket.
