Beautiful product and just as depicted online. My order was quickly shipped and arrived in just a few days. I would not hesitate to order again and would recommend to anyone thinking about doing so.

They were very willing to work with me and figure out the best shirts. Color fast, doesn't shrink - I had initially ordered too big and needed to size down!

About

The joy is in the journey.....

I have been creating and selling batik apparel as my full time occupation since 2005. Since then, I've set up my retail booth hundreds of times at Farmers Markets, Music Festivals and Arts and Crafts shows in areas all across the country. I feel very blessed to have met so many great people along the way and am still growing, loving and learning everyday through this little endeavor called Batik Creations. I am also very grateful to be making my living doing something I love and am forever humbled by the outpouring of love and support I have received over the years.

I love being a part of Etsy too. On Etsy there’s no heavy tent to pop, no shirts to pull out of a van, no rain, wind or blaring sun to deal with. But best of all, I can reach a lot more people online than I ever could at my local art festivals.

So from one veteran street vendor, thank you for supporting Etsy and thank you for choosing to wear and support the creation of handmade things. I hope I’ll get a chance to meet you at a festival sometime soon, or maybe count you among my many friends from around the world.

Gratefully Yours,

I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands. As a kid I was always busy making something. Then a job and “real” life came along. Now I’ve come full circle and am back dabbling in my workshop. Its fun, it feels right and I’m forever grateful for it.

Additional policies and FAQs
ANY SPECIAL WASHING INSTRUCTIONS? No not really, just wash in cold water with similar colors, then line or tumble dry.

WILL IT SHRINK? You will get very little to no shrinkage as I shrink everything in the batik process. Your items will arrive preshrunk, prewashed and ready to wear.

IS IT COLORFAST? Yes, every garment is triple rinsed to remove all excess dye. You will see very little to no color bleed off when washing.

WHAT IS BATIK? The word batik refers to the art of using wax to resist dye and create images in fabrics. Hot liquid wax is applied in the shape of the desired image and then allowed to harden. The waxed areas form a barrier to the dye. After dying the fabric, the wax is removed and the image is left in relief. Because the wax spreads out and fractures differently every time, unique patterns are created within each batik image. The art of Batik is the oldest known method of decorating cloth with samples found dating back over 2500 years.
