Born into a family of artisans, I've always been a creative at heart. The social enterprise model at BATIQUA allows me to give back to the community that I grew up in Zimbabwe. I design the textiles in Vancouver BC, collaborate with my community in Zimbabwe on the production and then sell them around the world. This model allows me to be able to empower many artisans, especially marginalized women in my Zimbabwean community. In this Etsy store, you will find a collection of not only beautifully created batik textiles, but other 'gifts I like,' all handmade and fairtrade.
I'm inspired by the desire to BE a difference to myself, family, community and world.
