My design background, inspiration and love for beads

I started making jewelry when I had purchased a beautiful old pendant when a friend of mine who was having a garage sale. I went to my favorite local bead shop with my pendant and put together a really great rosary bead necklace. I got so many compliments on it, and really enjoyed making this necklace. I saw similar necklaces that where like mine in a catalog that where very expensive. I knew I could re-create these necklaces and make them much more affordable! Then at Christmas time one of my gal pals had me over for dinner and we started making wrap bracelets. That's how it started, and I am "hooked."

I get my inspiration from all of those colorful beads that are out there! For years I worked in the fields of apparel, visual merchandising and interior design. I constantly worked with shape, color, texture, etc. Everyday I had to think "out-of-the-box" ! When you do something everyday the design process becomes natural. I will admit, that I frequently purchase beads that I have no idea what I am going to do with them! I just have this natural ability to put things together!
