Taking the Leap into Art

For over thirty years, I worked with words. Every day I'd sit at my computer and write articles, greeting cards, columns, and books for a variety of publishers. I knew from the time I was ten years old, growing up in a small northern California town (population 5,000), that I wanted to write books someday. Although I loved my work, there came a time when I felt the tug to shift gears, to create art--something with color and texture, and a mood that would make people happy.

One day I took the leap. I traded words for art, and I've never been happier. The thought of artmaking nudges me out of bed at 5:30 on most mornings. It's work I look forward to, and even that word, "work" seems out of place, because truly--I love creating and it never, ever feels like work. Certain nature photos will lead me a step further, as I paint, texturize, and layer selected images into something brand new.

I've been humbled by the people I've met on Etsy. These are rare opportunities and I don't take any connection lightly--like the young dad who requested a custom order for his wife, in honor of their baby boy who had passed away. Or the couple who needed three large- format abstracts to hang on the staircase landing of their new home. Recently I had the privilege of working with a parent who was struggling with terminal cancer. He wanted to honor his children and spouse with a personalized Memory Pillow for each of them.

Etsy provides the tools I need to present my work in an easy-to-maneuver format. Distance doesn't matter. How each person finds their way to my humble little shop is beyond me, but my greatest joy in this business is hearing them describe what they're after and being able to do the back-and-forth work until they're satisfied with the results.

I feel very blessed.

I'm passionate about art, and list prints that I personally enjoy. In fact, I won't list anything that I wouldn't be proud to hang in my own home. A satisfied customer is music to my ears.

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
  • Buy with Apple Pay
  • Pay with Sofort
  • Pay with iDeal
  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
I accept and recommend Paypal as a payment option. It's quick, safe, and free to use. Paypal orders are processed usually the same day. If you prefer to use a credit card, you will also have that option at Checkout. Direct Checkout orders (credit cards) take a bit longer to process, as I begin work once payment has been cleared --usually 3-4 business days.

Please make sure that you’re supplying the correct shipping address for your order. If I ship to the address you supplied and it was an error on your part then I cannot be held responsible. Doublecheck the information you've listed with Etsy, please. I DO NOT SHIP TO P.O. addresses. Please supply a *physical* address or I cannot fill your order.

Buyers are responsible for all duties, taxes, levies or fees incurred at point of entry to the buyer's country. For more information about specific country's import laws and customs/duties, please take a look:

As stated in the article at, most sellers on Etsy are unable to predict which of these fees, if any, will be applied, and Etsy does not expect sellers to calculate or collect these fees or taxes. For this reason we encourage buyers to know about their country's import laws and customs/duties.
IMPORTANT: My entire shop consists of Made-to-Order items which are placed on an individual basis. I keep no inventory, as I do not have a bricks and mortar store. I begin work on a product once payment has cleared. When it is ready to ship, I send notification along with a tracking number.

I ship to various locations, depending on the type of item that is purchased. Be sure to check shipping destinations before you order, please. Shipping costs can be found at the bottom of each listing, and apply to the purchase of prints.
(Reminder: I do not ship to a P.O Box. Please supply a physical address or I cannot fill your order.)
Refunds and Exchanges
Shop carefully with your exact product, color and size needs in mind, as I cannot make refunds for Made to Order items simply because you change your mind later on, or decide you made the wrong color choice. I do not keep an inventory of products; therefore, an order is Made to Order, because I am fulfilling it one at a time as buyers request a certain item. Please read the *entire* listing in detail, as it lays out exactly what you will be receiving. I often mix additional product images in with a listing, so glancing at an image alone does not provide the details that you, as an informed buyer, needs to know.

Sending pictures you've snapped of a sofa or bedroom is not helpful in matching colors, as my art is created solely on a calibrated Mac. Snapshots rarely produce the detailed color characteristics of a digital file.

If you're interested in a certain color to coordinate with your wall or other decor, I can create a color palette from Sherwin-Williams' Chip-It tool. Chip-It "reads" the colors of a digital file and produces a color palette of matching Sherwin-Williams paint colors. That has proven helpful to buyers who want to see a range of colors that a certain item would blend well with. I trust this tool and use it daily, as do interior decorators and designers. If you find a listing that does not include a color palette, please ask. I can make one for you. To view Sherwin-Williams' website (Family Colors), click the link below:

Finally, please read the *entire* listing in detail, as it lays out exactly what you will be receiving. I'm happy to answer any questions up front, before an order is placed.

Additional policies and FAQs

Occasionally I'm asked to help supply art for unique projects, such as transferring an image to glass or metal for a particular piece of cabinetry or other artwork in the home. In those instances, I am able to provide a high-resolution image by creating a Custom Listing. Etsy will then invoice the buyer. Once purchased, buyer will receive a link where the digital file can be downloaded. These files are large (up to 20 MB), and are sold with a license for one-time use for a specific project. Digital downloads are not refundable.
