Designing Gems
I have always enjoyed creating things having inherited my creativity genes from my mother and my grandmother. While I was growing up, I learned how to sew and knit. I also drew and did a number of crafty things.
Then in 2003, I finally started learning how to make jewelry and never looked back. There is something deeply satisfying about making jewelry. It's a never ending path of discovery and design with many delightful deviations along the way.
I started off with bead work then moved into chain maille and wire work, always striving to design something unique. I rarely repeat a design because the next idea is always so much better!
In 2007, I started my blog initially to showcase the work of students who attend my jewelry making workshops. It grew into so much more - a place where I can share this passion with others. I feature many tutorials, both my own as well as curated from the best designers around the world. I highlight innovative and inspirational designers. I also review many jewelry making books and products.
Always interested in technology, I learned to design and make laser cut pieces and there is where I am today - still helping others design jewelry!
