My interest in art and wildlife has been in my DNA since I was born. I grew up in Northern Michigan and Southern Florida, surrounded by beautiful landscapes filled with wonderful wild things. I turned my curiosity for all things animal into action by dedicating my life to preserving wild spaces. My art reflects that.

Beadkeepers came to life about 8 years ago, working with my sister, Lynn McGovern, an amazing glass bead designer. I branched out on my own, discovering my own voice in creating unusual art jewelry incorporating natural and collected found objects, antiquities, botanicals, anything that caught my eye. I am a collector of the unusual, including bone, hide, photographs, you name it, and incorporate all of this and more in my work.

I like to tell stories, and my designs are often inspired by a a short story or poem I have written. My influences are the natural world, and my work reflects my passion for wildlife and saving what remains of nature.
