Announcement   Handmade Lampwork artisan made beads by SRA M117 myself - Natalie Monkivitch
I love using borosilicate, beautiful italian soft glass and the divine silver rich specialty glasses. All my glass pieces are kiln annealed for strength and durability and are thoroughly cleaned of bead release.

I am also a proud member of the Australian and New Zealand Lampwork SRA group under member number 114.

I am a current member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers which is the best place to see the cutting edge of glass bead boundaries being pushed every further!

I hope to be listing some of my more unusual bead making surprises that emerge from the kiln here in my Etsy shop. I like to think that my beads are not common garden variety work.... indeed a bit more "left of centre" on some occasions, this really keeps the creative juices flowing.

I love working with glass, it is so very tactile and interesting in its many forms. Hard and cold, fluid and hot and the many stages in between where is is like warm toffee, sticky and malleable...... aaaaaaaahhhhh!

All items in the Beadmonki Store are made by Myself from the original glass rods. I use a Minor torch with an oxygen concentrator and LPG as fuel. I have a Paragon annealing kiln with a bead door and directly place my beads into the hot kiln as I make them. Annealing is the only way to remove the stress from heated glass and provide the strength to last. Some bead styles will be more fragile than others, ie. flowers and therefore some care will need to taken not to drop on hard surfaces.

You are free to use any bead purchased from me in any way you see fit other than claiming that you made the bead in question yourself! (yep this has happened to a great number of lampworkers) if you would like to give me credit as the artist - thanks! if not - no problem at all, I just hope you enjoy my beads. My beads are individual and I make an effort to keep them this way!
