About

beads coming out of my ears

I have always loved Native American beadwork, the intricate colorful patterns. So ten years ago I decided to give beadwork a try. I went to the library and got some books and went to the bead store and got some beads. It wasn't easy. It didn't look very good at first. I did't give up. I got better. I started with square stitch and branched out to other beadweaving stitches, eventually trying freeform and bead embroidery. I loved it ! It was relaxing. I could be creative. Every piece could be different. You could never run out of ideas!

It has become a bit of an obsession. I bead every day except the days that I work. It is a great distraction from a stressful job. My bead studio is a table. I've got beads coming out of my ears! I can't resist buying new ones.

In 2008 I decided to see if I could sell some bracelets and, lo and behold, I could! I have done this as a hobby business since then. I'm ready to take it to the next level. I want to expand my business, take it more seriously, work harder at it.

Here's to the future!

Welcome to the beadnurse shop!! I am so excited that you stopped by. I am an emergency room nurse who also does beadwork. Everything you see in this shop is sewn one bead at a time with TLC. I especially love bead embroidery because it allows the imagination to run wild. I use gemstones and seed beads and crytals in my work. Thanks for stopping by!
