About

Unique Art for Unique People

I have always disliked the cookie-cutter approach to life. You know, seeing the same home party picture or centerpiece in every other friend's home; seeing the same name brand shirt on at least two other women in a crowd or walking into a meeting and spotting the very same department store necklace on multiple attendees. At a very early age I learned that handmade was a way to put a unique signature on one's style and avoid the cookie cutter syndrome. I may have learned how to sew, embroider and crochet as a child out of necessity, but I also learned that not being able to afford ready-made presented a great opportunity for originality. As I matured, the necessity to create became a need for creativity.

Over the years, I've tried many forms of handmade art and enjoyed them all. But over 20 years ago, I decided to try beadweaving after seeing a pair of lovely fringed earrings in a craft magazine. I swear those earrings were calling my name! After that first pair I was hooked and the rest, as they say, is history. I've since added many stitches to my repertoire as well as bead embroidery and can't imagine ever not being able to work with beads, especially seed beads. Most of my designs are one of a kind and my hope is that each unique design will transfer to its wearer a feeling of being special.
