Even more beautiful in person! Packaging was absolutely wonderful. I bought this as a gift for my mother who loves cameos and (even more) rabbits. I was a bit nervous because she tends to be picky towards her jewelry, but this was absolutely PERFECT! Thank you!

About

Giving Rabbits a Helping Hand

The shop names says is all. I started this shop to raise money for homeless rabbits, namely those at Magic Happens Rabbit Rescue in Baton Rouge, LA.

I had been beading a little bit in high school and college, making jewelry for myself and to give as presents. I learned mostly from my sister and my aunt.

I joined Magic Happens Rabbit Rescue in 2005 as a volunteer while I was still in college. At some point in time I had the idea to try to sell my jewelry, especially rabbit themed, to make money for the rescue. I initially only had my jewelry available on MHRR's website and brought it to events we went to that allowed fundraising.

I didn't have much success as our rescue didn't have much of a following back then. In 2008, I decided to try selling on Etsy. I hadn't thought of the name "Beads for Bunnies" yet, so I signed up under my usual nom de plume that I use online "cillana". Soon I came up with my shop name and cute bunny logo, or rather the old version of my logo. In 2010, my sister, who is a graphic designer, helped me update my logo to what I had envisioned 2 years earlier.

In 2011 I decided to sign up for a new email address so I could get a second Etsy account. Beads for Bunnies now had an account under its own name. My first account didn't just disappear. It's becoming a haven for my love of nature.

All jewelry is crafted in a smoke-free and bunny-friendly home.

As of July 1st, 2015, I started donating to other animal rescues that support rabbits. You can see which rescue I'm currently supporting and how much money I have raised in my Shop Announcement.

I'm a lover of bunnies and lover of beading. I combined my hobbies of animal rescue and jewelry making to create this shop. I'm currently unemployed due to chronic vertigo. My rabbits and my jewelry making help get me out of bed every day.
