This is just what I wanted and came as per the picture. A lovely thing to be enjoyed and inspire thought..
How it all started
At a very early age I discovered my passion for history, art and folklore - and it never went away. I started drawing and making things as a very little girl, collecting stones, sticks, shells and leaves on travels with my parents. As an Art and History student I found out that the other grown-ups use most of their time explaining why they do something and loose their ideas in the process. I just make stuff, and I like making them.
I am 35 now, and still travelling, collecting and growing up. A few years ago I moved from the Netherlands to Austria, from the North Sea to the Alps. I live in a very small village, in a little house next to very big mountains and beautiful forests. In Holland I worked as an Art and History teacher, now my day job is helping adolescents re-intergrate in society - hard but rewarding.
The idea behind all my pieces is very simple: earthy, trans-tribal and durable.
I try to make pieces you can wear at the library, to an archeology dig and to that unexpected gallery opening party. Wear them with your old jeans or a silk dress.
My jewelry is not very fragile - neither are you - I want you to be able to throw a necklace on and run to catch the Trans Siberian Express. Wear a bracelet, walk through the desert and discover a lost civilisation. Or read a book.
Owner, Designer, Maker, Curator
Hi! my name is Lisia - everything you see in this shop I made with my own two hands and the ideas come from my chaotic mind. Take a look around, and just give me a shout if you need information. ( shipping, sizes or custom orders) namaste
To make my jewelry I upcycle, recycle and re-invent things. All the polymer beads I make myself.
The Fatima Hand is my little gadget, it is on every necklace or bracelet I make, you can easily remove it(but you don´t have to)
The Hamsa or Fatima Hand is often used as a symbol against the evil eye or a talisman, recently, some people who advocate for peace in the Middle East between Jews and Arabs, have begun wearing the hamsa symbol. In this fashion it stands for the common ground shared by Jews and Arabs. It becomes not a talisman with protective qualities, but instead a gesture of hope for peace in the war-torn regions of the Middle East.
Bracelet and Necklace sizes:
If you want a bracelet (they are 7-8 inch) or necklace a bit shorter, it´s not a problem, just tell me (longer is also not a problem)
I usually resize my jewelry for free, unless you want something really out of the ordinary...
Have you seen something in the Sold part you really like?
Convo me, I will not copy a necklace or bracelet, I can try to make something that has the same "idea" or look, but I think it´s unfair towards the person who bought an ooak necklace or bracelet to make a copy.
I love custom orders, especially "strange" requests! For instance, you would love a necklace with the same vibe as one of my bracelets? No problem, I love to work with you on it!
