I love all things whimsical and fun. I am drawn to the irrepressible joy and complexity of the natural world and feel restored whenever I am surrounded by nature. It gives me such peace and contentment, whether in a field, near woodland or by the sea. The more remote and rugged the landscape, the happier I am. I studied textiles and fashion at Liverpool before volunteering, later working and exhibiting in art galleries. I always enjoyed sculpture during my time at university and now working with metal clay I love the endless possibilities that the medium gives me. I work with bronze, silver and copper. I combine them with semi- precious stones and recently, found materials such as sea pottery and sea glass found on my many trips to the Scottish and North Yorkshire coast; not far from my Northern family. I derived a technique enabling me to produce hand carved moulds from which I create pendants of birds of prey, garden birds, foxes and hares to name a few. Each piece is taken from an original drawing it then goes through a process of being dried, sanded and fired with a blow torch or kiln fired, sanded, antiqued and finally polished. I sign each piece with a little running hare.
I show my work on an ongoing basis in Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire Galleries. I have a website and I use Instagram and Facebook to promote my work and give details of events that I attend throughout the year. Hand painted decorations from Scottish Sea Glass and FSC Sustainable wood. Each piece is unique. I can personalise a piece to your specifications. Please do not hesitate to get in touch.

I recycle all of my packaging where possible.

About BeadstormDesigns

Sales 155
On Etsy since 2013

Beadstorm Designs design one of pieces using recycled and sustainable materials .

Beadstorm Designs by Sarah Cain a fine artist based on the Cambridgeshire/Bedfordshire border, England, UK.

Sarah had previously worked within a successful art gallery and had exhibited her work in the UK. Prior to this she studied art and design in Manchester and obtained a degree in textiles and fashion from Liverpool John Moores University.

Sarah started out working with semi precious stones, freshwater pearls and sterling silver. Making one off pieces. She was accepted by an art gallery in Hertfordshire and took part in exhibitions. More gallery exhibitions followed and as her influences changed Sarah completed courses in silver jewellery making and working with art clay silver. Art clay silver was just the medium that she was looking for and since then she has never looked back. Experimenting with the medium and as it has such a short working time she realised that making and sculpting their own moulds was a way in which they could repeat her designs.

Animals was the natural progression. Sarah grew up in the English countryside and has owned numerous animals throughout her life. Her love of nature shows in her work. Sarah works in her studio overlooking fields in rural Cambridgeshire with her two dogs sleeping at her feet.
