About

Bead Embellished Fiber Art and Jewelry

Yes, I am distracted by shiny objects and my mind jumps around a lot. I never thought that making something I "dreamed up" was impossible, it was just a challenge!

My first introduction to bead embroidery was in 2008. I was watching a show on HGTV and they were making a small brooch out of a vintage button. Although familiar with needle-based arts (quilting and embroidery), I had never seen this and knew I wanted to learn all about bead embroidery. The journey started by enrolling in bead weaving classes, but as time became more of a factor, I relied on books and on-line videos to learn bead embroidery.

In 2013, I made the bold decision to take a two-day, private workshop with Heidi Kummli. BEST DECISION EVER!! I returned to Colorado the following year for a one day workshop. I just can't get enough of this beautiful art form.

I live in the state of Michigan and am always accompanied by my black lab, Ruby, while hiking through state and local parks. She is always ready for an adventure and likes to nap at my feet while I bead.

    Owner, Designer

Learning the art of bead weaving and bead embroidery has tied in nicely with my love of trinkets, buttons, fabrics, yarns and threads. Etsy is the perfect place to show, sell and connect with others. Check out my website and blog for more info!

  • Ruby

    Mascot

I list Ruby as my mascot, but the truth is that my sweet girl passed in December 2012. We shared so many adventures and she was a constant companion in my studio. She is always with me in spirit and remains the #1 mascot.

  • Jade

    Mascot Assistant

Jade the cat was Ruby's constant shadow and they became great pals. Jade thinks that being in my studio is a great adventure. She also loves to sleep, a lot. UPDATE: Jade joined her pal Ruby a year later. The studio is quiet with my girls' absence.

New addition to the family; January 2015!
