From me to you!
I make pottery that is intended to be used every day and enjoyed. Much of my life is focused on wholesome cooking and eating, so I spend lots of time in the kitchen as well as the studio. A favorite mug or serving bowl can really make cooking fun and memorable.
I often get ideas for designs by problem solving in my own home and kitchen. My fermenting crocks are always full of sauerkraut, ginger carrots, or my latest experiment. I love testing and improving my designs to ensure I'm making the best possible work for my customers.
In my free time, I'm usually outside; rock climbing, hiking, snowshoeing, anything to be out in the fresh air. I spend a good chunk of my outdoor time mesmerized by rocks, leaves, and the textures of the earth. My love of nature find its way into my pots, which have subtle throwing rings and softly varying glazes.
I want my customers to be happy with their pottery. To me, this includes the buying experience as well as the piece itself. After years of meeting customers face to face at craft shows, I have developed the skills to listen to what people are asking and respond with helpful answers. I often ask family members for a customer's perspective to ensure that I'm doing what's best for my customers.

In my family, fixing things and building projects are a way of life. When my college roommate introduced me to sculpture and pottery, it just clicked. I started Bean's Pottery to share my love of pottery with others. See my website for full bio.
