I've been fascinated with origami since elementary school. It was always just for fun and in my spare time. When I got older, I learned a couple of popular money folds and started leaving little hearts for tips when I went out dining with family or friends.

When I graduated from college I started teaching math, and let's face it, I probably wouldn't be wrong in guessing that 98.6245% of the world consists of people who dislike math and all things related to it. So in an effort to make my class fun and engaging, one of my Geometry lessons was a lesson in money folding! The kids loved it in comparison to a traditional math lesson. However, through this lesson, I learned that:

1) contrary to what I believed, not all people fold with precision and care
2) some people just don't get origami
3) almost everyone loves the final product
4) if you combine 1, 2, and 3, usually you end up with someone who's tried extremely hard to fold a piece and ended up with a crumpled wad of paper... then they ask you to fold a "pretty" one for them

So logically, it just seemed the thing to do was create a place where people could get the folds they love and that bring joy to them and those around them, and put them in a shop!

Please keep in mind that my Etsy shop is not my primary job. I am first and foremost a teacher, so I do have a turn around time that reflects my schedule as an educator. I do try to complete orders as quickly as possible, but appreciate that you understand this is a hobby and not my job!
