About

Disappearing under a pile of beads....

I started lampworking in early 2009, after visiting a UK gathering called the Flame Off and having a go. Back at home, and with the kit in place, I spent hours at the torch, practising and playing, until the summer, when my kid's Teachers were all on the receiving end of glass jewellery gifts, and someone asked me if I sold my beads. I decided that since there was no way I could possibly wear them all, (and we were running out of teachers!), maybe I should start to sell.

I started an online shop, and soon had a nice customer base of jewellery makers from all over the world purchasing my beads.

As a family we relocated to West Wales, and I am now lucky enough to have a dedicated studio for my lampwork. I took the decision to move my sales to Etsy in 2010, as I wanted to spend more time at the torch, and less time trying to move my webshop up the rankings.

I don't think that I have a definitive 'style', my imagination starts to wander the minute I sit down to melt glass, and particularly when I start to make a set of beads my brain has already started thinking 'what next?'. I have a list of 'things to make', which never seems to get any shorter as there are always so many new things to try!

I make beads that I would wear myself, so they tend to be more on the chunky side, rather than the beautiful delicate creations of some of my fellow lampwork artists. I'm always happy to take commissions, and love to hear your feedback.
