Proudly carrying the traditions of a legacy of women artists.
Textile artist and vision behind Salty Bee Threads, Heather, has worked to improve her crafts since childhood.
Heather’s specialties are quilting and embroidery, and she painstakingly crafts each bag, purse, piece of jewelry, and bonnet from scratch. She uses the finest fabrics, heirloom quality quilters cotton, fashion house denim, and rare Japanese textiles, in her quilted items. For her embroidered jewelry, she uses French embroidery floss, linen cotton blends for strength, and quality fittings and fastenings.
As a creator, it’s essential to have a strong support system, and as such, Heather would like to honor the circle of women who helped cultivate her artistic talents and allowed her to fly in ways they could only imagine:
Grandma Kathy, teaching the art of the hook and watching Heather chain hundreds of feet without blinking once at all the yarn lost; Grandma Evelyn, patiently displaying the lazy daisy again and again, giving Heather the ability to embroider with ease; her mother, Pam, carefully instructing how to wield a rotary blade and the importance of a quarter inch seam; her daughters, Pamela and Cora, who taught her color theory, that it’s fun to take chances, and patience; and lastly, Heather would like to thank her husband, Ryan, for without him, none of this is possible.
Like every flower, no two pieces of Heather’s work are the same.
