The seeds of Because UR Priceless started with an adventure I had with my friends Marsha and Vicky. One fall I decided to try my hand at making lip balm and lotion. Armed with my new found knowledge and well researched recipes I dragged my friends along on a grand adventure. What an adventure it was! I still laugh when I think of the first time we made lotion. It was not enough to try one recipe, we tried many. We tried so many in fact, that Marsha and I ran out of arms, legs, hands, and stomachs on which to try out the different formulas. In a moment of utter brilliance, we decided to test a particularly greasy batch on the bottom of our feet. Yup. You know what happened next. We ended up sliding across the kitchen floor almost landing on our derrieres. I didn’t think Vicky would stop laughing.

One thing I learned that day was how much I enjoyed making lip balm and lotion. Hmmm, what else could we make? We made salves, we made sugar scrub cubes, we made soap, we made cuticle cream. In fact, we’re still having fun and experimenting with new ideas. (Yup, I’m still dragging them along with me.)

As much as I enjoyed making these things, I was even more intrigued by the results I was having when using the products. I am a natural redhead (or at least I used to be until my pregnancies inexplicably sucked most of the red out of my hair). As a redhead, I have very sensitive skin. Even in my adulthood, I was still breaking out with acne and reactionary skin rashes if I even looked at something funny. Once I started using my natural products, however, that seemed to stop. Hmmmm. AWESOME!!!

Since that fall, my friends and I have tried our hand at making many things. Some things I no longer make (like soap), preferring instead to buy them from other artisans. Some things I’m still trying to perfect; and some things I have fallen in love with making and using. Those are the items you see here. The items I love; the ones that are tried and true – not just with me, but with my small army of testers. I take the time to use natural products because I am worth it…and so are YOU. As a matter of fact, YOU are priceless!
