Celebrating a love of handmade every day.

My work is a combination of geekiness: traditional textile techniques, like sewing and weaving; high tech elements including laser cutting and digital fabric printing; and lots of puns. Everything you see in my shop is designed by me, from the printed graphics to the one-of-a-kind fabrics to the designs that are laser cut.

I work with Spoonflower (digital fabric printing) and Ponoko (laser cutting) to help me produce my pieces, because their services let me access professional equipment and materials that I couldn't do on my own. I consider them my production partners. I design and create "on-demand" the custom supplies I need and then I complete ALL of the sewing, finishing and assembly myself.

I live in Minneapolis with my husband and a yellow lab puppy named Stanley. Art is my full time job, whether I am teaching online, exhibiting my work, collaborating with other artists, writing a tutorial or working with arts organizations in my community. It's never the same job two days in a row and that's pretty cool. I teach classes online on hand crafts, digital fabric design, technology, and nearly any kind of fiber art technique. I worked for 11 years as the director of education at an art center that specializes in fiber art ( and there I wrote curriculum, coordinated classes and trained other artists and teachers. I am the co-author of "The Spoonflower Handbook", which is a how-to guide to designing your own fabric, wallpaper and gift wrap. I was a member of the 2016 Etsy Sellers Advisory Board and was an instructor for the Etsy U program, helping new sellers get started.

I also run the shop, which features clothing and accessories made from my original digitally printed fabrics and featuring oboe themed gifts.

Frequently asked questions
What address will your package ship to?

Please make sure that the address associated with your Etsy and/or Paypal account is current and correct. I ship to the address which is provided to Etsy when you check out and it is automatically entered into the shipping label. I am not responsible for re-shipping costs if you provide an address with errors or one that is outdated and a package is undeliverable.

Can you tell me more about the return policy for kits?

If you have opened or used a kit, it is no longer in original condition and you may not return it. If you have a problem, concern or questions about your item, please contact me within 14 days of receiving your item and I will work with you to make it right.

What if my item is damaged in shipping?

Custom and personalized orders

I am happy to do custom sets of buttons for your knitting or weaving group, guild or retreat. Convo me with your ideas and we can work out details and prices to create a custom listing for you.

Where do you get your fabrics?

I design all of my fabrics and have them digitally printed. The patterns that I create are digital files. They start out as a photograph, illustration or a piece of handmade art. A giant ink jet printer then digitally prints my design onto many different fabrics. I work with a company called Spoonflower to do the printing, because they enable me to work with large professional quality printers that I couldn’t otherwise have access to.
