I love these and the cats are DELIGHTED with their little "extra"! Thank you very much! The small ball for the kittens has already disappeared and the larger one is being thrown up and down the stairs as I type. Maybe these will distract them from the business end of woolzies! Thanks as always

About

Crafting to get me moving again.

I started this shop up In January 2013 after I had been "down for the count" due to a disease called crps and I was also waiting on a transplant list for a major ankle surgery. Over Christmas, my big sister came out to Reno for a visit and she introduced to me to etsy.
I decided to open my etsy store shortly after. The story of my dryers balls going viral. One day, I made a set of wool dryer balls for my own personal use. My husband thought that I was totally nuts. Well, now, they are by far one of the most used items in our house. My friend came over and she heard several in my dryer and she asked what it was and before I knew it, I started getting calls from total strangers wanting to buys some. That's why I love etsy!
All of these crafts have kept me going while I can't do much of my normal duties. When you purchase from my shop, know that you are helping me out by keeping my hands busy and mind off of my crps pain. However, the best part of my shop is that a portion of my profits goes to a new charity or cause each month. We have been able to donate to JDRF, RSDHope, two local elementary school, but most important of all, we were able to buy a sweet paralyzed dog a wheelchair. I could not have done it without the help of my wonderful customers. They keep me going!

How to use and care for Beck Ware’s wool dryer balls ☺

When you open your package, you may notice that the wool dryer balls feel damp. Wool LOVES to absorb moisture, so this is very normal. These dryer balls are made to order and shipped as soon as possible, there is always a chance that there is a slight amount of moisture left from the felting process. There is nothing to worry about, just throw them into the dryer and put them to work ;)

These are unscented and 100% wool, therefore, they do smell like wool. If you would like to scent them, you can add a few drops of your favorite essence oils to them and they will nicely scent your clothing! If you don’t want to scent them, don’t worry, your clothing will not come out of the dryer smelling like sheep.

These don’t need to be washed if used exclusively as dryer balls, however, as a mother of three kids, I know that dryer balls have secret lives of being dog toys, baseballs, juggling balls and well, many things. You can simply throw them in your next wash in the washing Machine and then put in a hot dryer and all will be well.
Additional Q&A
Q. How do they save time, money and energy?
A. The wool balls will bounce around your dryer, separating the clothing and allowing better air circulation, thus making it dry a lot faster. The friction that they make against the clothing naturally softens them and helps eliminates the need for dryer sheets, which contain several chemicals. The money saved from the reduced drying time and also no longer needing to purchase dryer sheets.
Q.How long will they last?
A. I will guarantee them to work for a year! However, wool dryer balls have been known to work for several years. I do several layers of felting when I make them, to ensure that they are sturdy. If you do have any issues with your dryer balls, please message me and I will help you out. Please note that the dryer balls WILL shrink up the more you use it, but rest assured that they will still work just as well, if not even better!
Q. Can they be scented?
A. YES! You need to us a natural essence oil. You can add a few drops of essence oils to your dryer balls every few washes. I will add a few drops, and throw them in the dryer alone for 3-5 minutes before throwing the clothing in, just so the clothing is not TOO strong smelling.
Q. How do they reduce static?
A. wool will naturally help reduce static cling, but also, because these dryer balls absorb moisture into them while drying, it will keep your clothing from getting over dry, which promotes a static build up as well. These will not always take away ALL static, as there are some very static prone materials out there, so if you are still having some issues with it, You can crumble up a small ball of foil and throw it in the dryer with the rest of your clothing.
Q. How many should I use at a time?
A. Two large balls at the minimum but you can use as many as you want. On average though, I like to use two large and 3-5 minis for a large load of laundry. The more you use, the better they work.
Q. Is Pilling Normal?
A. Yes, this is a normal process. It actually helps them work better by helping “fluff” up you’re your clothing up more. If you don’t like the fuzz, you can pick it off.

And as always, please email me at BeckerthenBeck [!at] yahoo.com if you have any questions at all!
