I didn't really begin creating art "seriously" until about 20 years ago. I've been a graphic designer for a long time, but grew tired of always having to please the client. I wanted to have an avenue to do whatever I wanted to do and not have to change it.

So, I began to find a community of artists that created things I could relate to. Not landscapes. Not portraits. Not necessarily pretty. This gave me the permission I guess I felt that I needed to get started.

The surprise is, most of my artwork is a little dark, which doesn't seem to "fit" with who I appear to be. People who know me often shake their head at my art, saying something like, "I don't understand where your head is, but I like it."

Of course, to those of you who only "know" me online, you can kind of imagine whatever you want me to be. Although, my profile photo gives you a pretty good idea. I'm just an ordinary, middle-aged (plus) woman, with no tattoos and only one ear piercing in each ear.

My artwork seems to give me the outlet I need for my emotions. Quite often, the work seems to have conflicting elements. "Dark Whimsy" is what one of my customers called it. I've really liked that definition.

My work is not for everyone. But, maybe it's for you.
