About

I spent time traveling and keep my favorite images close to heart ~ hence the name Bedouin

After twenty years in the flower business I traded in fresh flowers for my second love of vintage fabrics and with my life's arrow forever pointing north moving to Oregon from California was naturally meant to be. I've been married for 30 plus years and we've together made our way up the California coastline.

Using vintage fabrics collected locally and from around the world I began making these pretty and petite hand held fabric bouquets with traditions in mind. They are designed to reflect upon an artful, historic and mindful celebration.

There are not a lot of bells and whistles attached, they are simply stated. Authentic they are a comforting piece to hold during many of life's elevated events. The vintage fabrics are soft and thought provoking. Traditions in tribal ceremonies across the globe often incorporate fabrics into an event for blessings in warmth.

I've found with each custom order placed or bouquet bought from my shops inventory everyone has the same connection to handmade as I do ~ lovingly simple ~ made well ~ affordable ~ and something with a little individuality to it.
The bouquets are unique and come from my own design they are meant to celebrate a day that asks for little but your happiness.

My florist work history and how times have changed.

Throughout the 1980's, 90's and early 2000's I worked in the San Francisco Bay Area for and with some of the best and most innovative artists in town landing jobs where events such as Bouquets to Art, The San Francisco Ballet and Opera House, San Francisco's Black and White Ball, and Macy's Spring Fashion Show were all in a week's work. Big parties that were held in the ballrooms of classic and beautiful hotels were often followed by weekends at local wineries and estates. I'm thankful having spent many years doing something I love.

With the change in economy came changes in how people celebrated meaningful events. And while some began to save their pennies for the expensive event others started to celebrate in modest, natural and homespun ways. This was my new nitch. Combining the historic traditions of fabric used in celebrations and the skill for wiring work the decision to add fabric flowers to my style was / is fun to do.

I gave tours as a volunteer at the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers It was a fulfilling endeavor and learned so much about plants. I still dream about botanists especially back in the day climbing the world's mountaintops for Orchids and other epiphytes to both scrutinize and bask in their miniature beauty. Ahhhhh ~*~

Always vintage ~ Down to the thread.
The bouquets use only vintage and recycled materials unless requesting different.

You'll also find a collection of antique picture frames, intimates and at times a small tribute to our divine & earthly animal friends in my shop.
A few pieces have investment value while others whether found, bought or traded have a sense of survival and individuality.

I welcome international orders and try to pack tightly and as inexpensive as possible

My sold page has some interesting and one of a kind items that found fantastic new homes all over the world.

If you like my items check out my personal treasury listings. Sharing allows artists exposure who may get lost in the stream of etsy.

Thank You to everyone who purchased a handmade bouquet. Fun to make, my shop stock will continue to grow while I hunt for more fabulous vintage fabrics to sweeten the pot!

Located in the Pacific Northwest, many of the small towns throughout are old and are rich in history. The landscapes are beautiful and nature abundant.

Vintage Fabric Bouquet Orders

As Custom orders are specific, take time and are created with the buyers event in mind.

All sales are final. No returns, cancellations, or exchanges permitted.

Allow:

4 weeks to make and one week to ship within the US States.

4 weeks to make with 4 weeks for shipping outside of the US States.

Once receiving your fabric flowers take time to fluff them by holding the stem under the pom and sculpt the florets how you'd like. Each cluster is individually wired into the stem. The bouquets are meant to be touched and handled.

Packaging may flatten the loops a bit and you'll need to spend a few moments getting to know the bouquet and see how freely it moves. You can pull the florets out to make the bouquet a little bigger or you can condense the flowers in tightly to make the bouquet more compact.

I like to listen to music or watch a movie and discover the hidden ruffles that can pull out from the top and sides.

Happy Journey's
Nicole

Payment
I accept credit cards, personal checks and PayPaI. I ask for payment up front when ordering a handmade fabric bouquet

Etsy has provided a handy reference guide as to how to pay for your item using this method. http://www.etsy.com/help_guide_checkout.php
Shipping
I use USPS mail service and hand deliver packages to the post office though once the package has left my hands I cannot be responsible for losses or damages during shipment.

Items weighing under 13 oz will ship first class and include a tracking number.
Items weighing over 13 oz ship priority mail and come with a tracking number and up to 50.00 usd insurance.

````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
I do ship internationally.
Payment of duties and taxes are the responsibility of the receiver.
I will gladly combine shipping to save on costs. However, vintage items are often heavy, oversized and not easily boxed with other unlike items. For instance a heavy metal tool is not going to pack happily with a delicate ceramic vase.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND FULLY : INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
The days of creative packaging are coming to an end as we are forced to use clearly shaped and measurable sized boxes as well padded envelopes for shipping.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Once the package reaches the customs dept in your country I cannot be responsible for additional charges that may ecru. Each country has its own set of rules while going through customs, The package may be opened and searched. You may be asked to pay additional charges for items that customs feel are appropriate to charge for.
A customs number will be provided though international ground delivery doesn't allow for tracking your package.There is always a small risk of lost packages or returns when sending things so far without being able to keep track of them.
I'm just as sorry to have to present a gamble ~*~ if the package comes back to me we can revisit the options for redelivery.
I'll always include a customs number using ety's automated shipping details notification in with international orders with the exception of postcards / tiny objects that will be sent in a greeting card sized envelope using international stamps that cost 1,15 each.
Once a 1st class package leaves the US it's a rarity to be able to track its whereabouts. Though the customs number will often show it delivered.
You'll have the option at checkout to upgrade your shipping. Keep in mind it's expensive though in most cases can reach its international destination quicker. Overnight shipping is available within the US states.
Refunds and Exchanges
Because of the fragile nature of aging textiles,buttons and antique glass nearing 100 years old, I can't accept returns at this time. Please examine all items carefully, read the descriptions, note the measurements and contact me for whatever questions you might have about an item before purchasing.
I try to describe my items to the best of my ability, flaws and everything, but remember these are vintage items once loved and may show some wear by minor scratches, imperfections or other signs of use. Any significant damage will be mentioned in the listing.
I don't alter any of my photos, your are getting the closest to color and texture that I can through natural light.
Your satisfaction is very important to me, I take great care in making sure my items are presented and shipped carefully. If you are not happy with a vintage item ~ convo me and we can work out a friendly resolution.
I would love for you to leave me a feedback once you received your package, this would let me know that you got your item in satisfactory condition. If you are unhappy with the transaction, please inform me of the problem and give me an opportunity to help resolve it before leaving a negative feedback.
Additional policies and FAQs
There are a couple of items that I clean before sending out. vintage clothing, kitchen ware and bedding will be handwashed using Ecover, a plant based mineral liquid soap and line dried by the power of nature( unless of course its raining )
At times the vintage items may contain lead in the paint content. Nothing in my shop is recommended for children to play with unless marked safe to do so. If a knife no matter how small is sold in my shop I ask that the buyer be over 18 years of age and will assume so since stated here.
