Announcement   Hello and welcome to my little toy shop. It's so good to have you here. About my designs--they are all my original creations and I love to incorporate upcycled (i.e. thrifted or donated items I take apart in use in new ways) goods into my designs, or organic all-natural fabrics. It truly makes me happy to create and make toys--I hope that happiness translates in what you see here, as well as what you experience when you play with or hold one of my items.
Let me know if you have any questions or would like to request something custom-made. I'm happy to help you find what you are looking for. If you have questions about shipping times, I am also glad to work with you to accommodate shipping times. Have a lovely day.

A recently complete group of my Two-Faced Friend Dolls—so named because they are awake and happy on one side and asleep and a bit cranky on the other. All are made with lovely Liberty of London Tana lawn fabrics. Both girl and boy versions available!
A recent customer put a custom order of my Lego rings to a magical use—all captured on video and in lovely photos at The Wedding Scoop website in the April 16 post “A Singapore Bride’s Creative Bridesmaid Proposal.”
A custom order request from a recent customer for Frog and Toad dolls inspired by the book series & made from upcycled men’s wool suit jackets. Many of my items are made from secondhand materials, like the fox in the linked listing. Happy earth day!

About

Reducing, Reusing and Amusing Since 2005

It's true. I have always thought toys were cool--especially vintage toys. When I had my son (nickname Beeper) I started create things for him, then I started making toys as gifts, and then I started this shop when I discovered such a lovely response to what I was making. I have been reducing, reusing and amusing through my Etsy shop for 10+ years now.

I love thrift stores and from the very beginning what I have been making has been made with used and thrifted materials--all wool sweaters, stripey cotton tees, brightly colored towels, fuzzy cashmere sweaters, funky patterned scarves, men's tweed suit coats--because I want to find uses for what already is out there and that makes sense to me. I also love to find uses for the little bits and scraps of other materials I have left over from making--very little goes to waste around here.

Growing up I loved to play with teeny dime store trinkets and fisher price toys and today those same toys are my creative inspiration--vintage Fisher Price little people are sort of my muse.

I also have a blog I have been on extended hiatus from, but it is filled with photos from my life, links to other artists and things I find inspiring and has lots of FREE projects and patterns (and a recipe or two) so you too can make your own. It is sort of my creative journal. You can visit my blog here: http://chezbeeperbebe.blogspot.com/

I am working toward making this my full time job because it is all I want to do. Thank you for being interested--it absolutely means the world to me.

I love to hand-make toys and teeny things from secondhand stuff. In between making (or sometimes while), I listen to a lot of vinyl and drink whiskey. At times, I cook a meal, grow some veggies or camp. But this is what I want to be when I grow up.
