Updates

This nuno felt shawl was made with the Sleeping Beauty Blend and with wisps of Bamboo Topaz as a contrasting accent.
I've been enjoying spinning my new blend Cinnamon Teal on my Peruvian spindle. beehibiscusbee
Deliciously soft pulled sari silk has been listed in the shop. Great for blending, or for adding some extra texture and pizazz to you spinning or felting projects!

About

Love color, textures, and beautiful wearables...

My name is Patricia, and I live in a beautiful coastal town in Northern California. In 1999 I discovered working with wool as a matter of necessity. Coming from the tropics, I was vulnerable to the cold weather of the north. Wool makes me feel comfortable and able to enjoy the new environment. I started knitting twenty years ago, and I always thought of spinning as a natural addition to creating a garment. I discovered that when I hold a skein of yarn I have spun, I get a feeling of conclusion, and the knitting process becomes almost secondary to me. I like to think about the histories intertwined in a skein of yarn. The people, the animals, the places even the weather and my thoughts. All becomes present and important while I prepare the fiber before I spin it. All the steps become very relaxing to me because there is no way to rush them. The cycle of washing the raw fiber, letting it dry, dyeing, carding, and spinning requires its own time and its own space...

Frequently asked questions

Do you combine shipping?

Yes, although shipping prices depends upon location. I'm also refund any shipping overcharges greater than $ 1.50

I have 2 items in cart, and shipping is over $20 to Canada.

Shipping parcels to oversees has been increased this year by the USPS. The prices to mail parcels to Canada are:
1 to 9 oz = $ 9.50
9 to 32 oz (2 lb) = 15.50
32 oz to 48 (3 lb) oz = 23.75

Please note that, when adding items to your cart, the shipping prices might also surpass the prices quoted here, I will send refunds for any shipping overcharges greater than $1.50 after purchasing the shipping label.

Is your wool cruelty-free?

Yes! The Targhee and Merino are from the USA, proudly raised and processed here in our country. The Rambouillet is French from small french farms, processed in the UK and all the other wool are sourced from the UK. None of these places practice mulesing.
Just so you know, stressed sheep won't produce beautiful fiber.

About marking oversees purchases as a gift

I am required by law to mark custom forms as “merchandise”. Falsifying customs forms is a federal offense and carries a very heavy fine, jail time and loss of my business license so please understand that I will not honor any requests to mark as “gift” – thank you.
