5 out of 5 starsI have a card collection that only recently started getting some real use (thanks quarantine) and this deck has quickly become one of our favorites to use for daily gin matches. Beautifully made.

Shay and Jeff in the bee things studio
A love story (warning: contains mushiness)
When Shay and Jeff were first married, they lived in a little duplex apartment. When they found out they were going to be having a baby, Jeff packed Shay a little kraft bag filled with snacks every day. And since they were both designers/illustrators, Jeff just couldn’t send her off with a blank lunch sack, oh no. So every day, he would make a little different something on the bag with crayons or markers or glued-on cut paper, a bird, a little animal, or a silly visual pun. People Shay worked with would see the bags, and many suggested (rather strongly, in some cases!) that Shay and Jeff should make and sell them. When the baby was close to coming, they decided to get a house. The one they found (and were lucky enough to get!) had a small back-house in the yard, not as nice/big as a guest house, but nicer than a shed. Jeff was wondering what to do with it, when Shay suggested they turn it into a screen printing studio. Neither of them had ever screen printed before, but, just like them, they just went for it. Jeff finished out the shed over the spring (he put in walls, a ceiling, and power), and researched screen printing. They started screen printing snack bags, birds at first, and started selling them on Etsy. Jeff thought that since they were going through all the trouble of making printing plates and printing on bags, they should print a few extra images on paper and see if they could sell the images as prints. As it turned out, the bags were a bit of a bust, but the prints sold like hot cakes! These days, Shay and Jeff illustrate and design for all kinds of folks, including AT&T, Crate and Barrell, Hallmark, The New York Times, Nickelodeon, and Papyrus Recycled Greetings, just to name a few. They have two kiddos and two mini-weenie dogs, none of which can help them screen print, but all four of which eat their food.

Jeff is the not-as-good-looking half of bee things. When he's not illustrating or pulling prints, he is busy designing or in three simultaneous meetings as managing principal of design studio RBMM. Jeff is also a connoisseur of ales and lagers.
Shop policies
our prints are made in limited editions of 100-150. if you would like a larger quantity of an item than what's listed in the shop, we probably have it in stock, so just email us at hello(at)bee-things.com, and we'll be glad to chat with you.
we also do custom orders and requests, and we'll be glad to talk with you! just email us at the address above. :)
Accepted payment methods
Returns and exchanges
because we're so small, we hope you'll meet us halfway on damages. we have only had a few damaged prints over the last year, and this has worked well as a fair deal. our method of packaging makes shipping damage very rare. in those cases we are happy to send a replacement print if you provide us with pics of the damaged item, and in exchange we ask that you pay for the shipping. :)
returns:
sorry, we don't offer returns. but we do offer exchanges on prints and other paper goods if you pay for the shipping back and the shipping for the new item out to you. we do not offer exchanges on apparel, sorry.
lost:
occasionally, we have a no-show. if this is the case, we will confirm your shipping address that you provided. if the address you provided is correct, we will happily send another item. if the address you provided is not correct, we will ask you to pay for the shipping on the replacement item, plus a lost-merchandise fee of $10 US.
Payment
if you have trouble paying online, just email us your name, order and phone number to hello(at)bee-things.com, and we'll call you back and process your credit card order over the phone (for security, we won't take a credit card order over email, and we never keep that information!). for money orders, we will not ship until we have your money order in hand, fair's fair!
Shipping
we use the good old united states post office for our shipping, bless their hearts.
united states:
orders shipped within the u.s. are sent u.s.p.s. priority mail, so expect your oder to arrive in 2-3 days once it's shipped (we'll send a shipping notification once it is).
canada:
orders shipped to canada are sent u.s.p.s. frist class. for some reason, canadian customs are slower than cold syrup, so expect your order to arrive within 5-8 days once it's shipped (we'll send a shipping notification once it is).
outside the u.s. and canada:
orders shipped internationally are sent u.s.p.s. frist class. depending on your country's customs policies and quickness, your order should arrive within 7-10 days once it's shipped (we'll send a shipping notification once it is).
special shipping:
we will absolutely send an order via ups/fedex for 2-day or overnight delivery on request (if you need to make a birthday or a holiday). just send us a note before or after you place your order, and we will get a usps shipping estimate, subtract the usps shipping cost included in the order, and let you know what the extra cost is.
