Made with Mother Earth in Mind

We specialize in soap, bath & body, inspired by Nature and Mother Earth, with a focus on sustainable materials, small batches, earth-conscious packaging, eco-friendly formulations, cruelty-free practices, and locally sourced ingredients. All of our products are handcrafted with respect to the Earth and all that lives upon it.

Belham Herbals started out as just a hobby, a corner of a college apartment dedicated to earth-inspired creativity. We handcrafted items like soap and balms from our own porch-grown herbs, infused in our warm windowsills, as a way to connect our daily lives with the energies of nature. Gifts to friends and family gradually evolved into farmer's market wares and online listings. Soon, we had a way to help supplement our income and put ourselves through college while sharing our handcrafted creations with others. For a time, Belham Herbals was our "extra" job. We studied culture, religion, law, and language, and drew further creative inspiration and business knowledge from all of these.

Within just a few short years, we relocated to another town, and found ourselves expecting our first child. Soon after this discovery, Lacy found herself jobless. Belham Herbals suddenly became our opportunity to support our family, enabling Lacy to work exclusively out of our home, while providing a connection with creativity and a respect for the Earth that we hope to pass along to our new child. Through hard work and determination, we've focused on growing our little business in many ways, providing our followers with ethically sourced, carefully formulated products that are both uniquely inspired and presented. We take pride in each and every well-tested recipe, every thoughtfully-blended scent, every meticulously-designed label. The ultimate goals of Belham Herbals are to help us protect and restore Mother Earth, while eventually providing enough income to help us, and others, live a more nature-centered life. Our dream is to purchase a small piece of land and a home for our family, so that we might raise and grow our own food and plants, while raising our little Brigid to live more sustainably on Mother Earth.

Custom carvings and wholesale orders can range in production from two to six weeks; please see specific item listings for further questions (or contact us!). We often ship out ready-made products very quickly and we will always personally let you know the status of your order. We are strong believers in customer communication.

We can usually ship nine bars of soap in a single padded flat-rate envelope; we can ship up to 35 bars in a regional rate or medium flat-rate box, and up to seventy-five in a large flat rate box. We ship single bars of soap out in padded envelope mailers for about $3.50. All orders are shipped with a printed copy of your order and a free sample.

Priority Mail usually takes 1-3 to ship after processing; please contact us if you need an item rushed.
Additional policies and FAQs
Expect natural variation from batch to batch in all of our products, as everything is made in small batches and we are constantly re-working our formulas and packaging for maximum efficiency, quality, and sustainability. We strive to keep photos and descriptions constantly updated to reflect these changes. PLEASE NOTE that there may also be slight cosmetic differences in the soap from batch to batch, but ingredients and weight of the soap will never change unless indicated in the listing.

We offer most of our products at wholesale prices for interested brick-and-mortar stores. Please contact us for more information!

Ingredients & Packaging

As always, we promote the use of the most sustainable ingredients, plant-based oils, only cruelty-free sources (especially of animal-based products), and local sources whenever possible. All of our soap bars and bath cakes are around four-and-a-half ounces by weight, made in small batches, and may vary slightly in color, weight, shape, and scent from bar to bar. They all contain Georgia Olive Oil from Georgia Olive Farms, Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) sourced Palm Oil, Coconut Oil, & Unrefined Shea Butter from Ghana. The finished soap bars and bath cakes are wrapped in eco-friendly, recycled, and/or biodegradable packaging.

All of our products are completely free of:
Parabens • Sulfates • Detergents • Phthalates

Care instructions

Please store your soap bars away from direct water contact. We highly recommend that you purchase a soap dish with each of our soap bars; these handcrafted wooden dishes help extend the life of your soap bar by promoting drainage and keeping the water off.

We recommend you store your lotions and other skin care products away from direct heat and light.

All of our products have a shelf life of six months to a year, but we think you'll love it so much you'll use it up long before then.

Are your products vegan/cruelty-free?

We do have some products that are vegan, though we are not a vegan company. Our Goat's Milk line is not vegan, and is formulated with Goat's Milk. Our Sea Island Cotton is formulated using Cruelty-Free Silk & Cotton Honey. Our Midsummer Sun (Summer Seasonal) is formulated with honey. The remainder of our items are vegan.

The only animal-based ingredients we use are local Honey (from HL Franklin's Healthy Honey), Cruelty-Free Tussah Silk, & Meyenberg Goat Milk (Why Meyenburg? It is Kosher, and their goats have not been treated with rBGH's. We are currently trying to source local Goat Milk in bulk, please contact us if you are interested in partnering with us). All of these products are sustainably harvested and cruelty-free.

Are your products all-natural?

We use 99% naturally-derived ingredients or better. We do use fragrance oils to replicate scents that are hard or harmful to naturally source (apple essential oil doesn't exist, for example, and clove essential oil can be very irritating to certain areas of the body) and we use gentle preservatives at a very low rate in our body creams for your safety. However, we always, always, always tell you exactly what is in your product, and strive to be completely transparent about our formulations.
