Sharing helpful sewing and machine embroidery tips, patterns and tutorials. Inspiring budding creatives to keep trying new things!

I sewed my first project when I was 11. Actually, I sewed two - a pig and a panda. They were assignments middle school Home Economics class. I was only supposed to make one, but my parents had recently gotten divorce and I was worried that if I gave one to my mom and not my dad, my dad would be sad. {Oh, silly child of divorced parents!}.

Both Piggie and Panda came out pretty well for a grade 6 sewist - I put my heart and soul into those softies. Don't believe me? Mr. Pig lived with my mom up until about a year ago (that's 2013). I think 30 years of life for a stuffie is pretty good - don't you?

Fast forward to 2013, my young daughter received a book called Sewing School and decided I should start a sewing school. She had seen watching me sew up custom creations and ship them off to my Etsy customers. And she was onto something - it was time to share my love of sewing. That summer I started teaching Sewing Summer Camp!

Teaching summer camp was a great way to share the sewing love, but it also got me started with making original patterns and tutorials.

This shop is where I share those original patterns and kits to get you started sewing!

For digital items, because of the digital nature, there are no refunds. However, we understand that double buys happen and if you purchase the same design twice, your re-purchases will be refunded.

For kits, if an item arrives damaged or incomplete, I will replace it as soon as possible. Please note, in very rare occasions, limitations around availability of fabric may require making a fabric or notion substitution - should this situation arise I will work with you to choose an ideal substitute. If a problem arises with your product, please contact me right away.
Payment
Paypal and credit card payments are accepted.

For digital items, because they are available for immediate download you cannot cancel the order. However, we understand that double buys happen and if you purchase the same design twice, your re-purchases will be refunded.

With kits, because shipping takes place within 48 business hours, you MUST cancel within 24 hours of ordering.
Shipping
Patterns are a digital item and are available for immediate download upon processing of your payment by Etsy.

Kits are shipped via USPS 1st Class Mail. Upgrades are available as requested.

I will happily ship straight to a giftee as well as include a personal note, just leave me the info in the Note to Seller section at checkout.

NON-HOLIDAY SHIPPING TIMES:

While packages generally arrive MUCH sooner, I use the following shipping timelines for the U.S. Post Office delivery service:

- Domestic Delivery: up to 2 weeks

- International Delivery: up to 4-5 weeks

Please remember that shipping around any holiday can be very unpredictable and Priority Upgrades are recommended to ensure faster delivery times!

PROOFING PROCESS & POLICY

For custom digitizing, you will receive THREE (3) Complementary proofs.

Errors made by Belinda Lee Designs, for example typos in entering your information, will always be corrected free of charge before final approval.

Changes that will draw upon your 3 proofs include customer initiated errors and changes {for example, incorrect information and spelling, changes to colors, design placement and size.}.

Once you have used your 3 proofs, if you request color, text, placement or other changes, you will need to purchase additional proofs. Alternatively, if you are unable to obtain your desired design, YOU CAN CANCEL your order and you will be refunded your purchase price minus the cost of the proof designs already provided to you ($30).

It's a combination of graphic design in my embroidery program, loading up my hulking embroidery machine with the right thread colors, hooped fabric with backing material and stitching it out, followed by trimming the fabric to the right size, cutting a matching back piece and inserting a zipper.

So it's a combination of creating the design on my laptop with my Brother embroidery software, a 10 needle Babylock embroidery machine and a regular Juki sewing machine.
