How Belly Charms Began

I started Belly Charms the end of 2007, the same year my second son was born. My now teenage boys are 13.5 months apart. I took my belly ring out the last 2 months of my first pregnancy, even though it had been pierced almost 10 years, my piercing closed. I got it re-pierced, and a few months later found out baby boy #2 was on the way.

An ultrasound tech told me there were belly button rings for pregnancy, but they were hard to find. I finally found one and loved it. I did my research and decided to start a business making them to help other moms-to-be who wanted to keep their belly piercing.

It took a few years, and many sleepless nights with 2 little ones, but I finally got my business up and running. My dining room table was my office space. My pregnancy belly button rings and mothers' bracelets have been featured in Pregnancy & Newborn Magazine, Fit Pregnancy and OK! Celebrity Magazine. ( Back when people had magazines in print :)

More about me. I am a long time health/fitness professional, weight management specialist and am a professional social media marketer with Plexus Worldwide since 2013. In 2014, I shut down my large Belly Charms website and moved to transitioned to only Etsy.

In 2023 I launched a new Basically Beachy themed graphic collection of custom apparel, accessories, mugs and gifts. I love being my own boss and creating custom designs.
