As a professional belly dancer, I started making jewelry to match my costumes as well as everyday wear, because often I had trouble finding exactly what I wanted, even when I spent a lot.

When my dance students tried to buy the jewelry I made for myself, I started creating pieces for them too. Finally one of my dance students, Alice, told me about Etsy. So that is how Belly Dance Princess Jewelry was born...

Nowadays, I make eclectic jewelry for dancers and those who love beautiful things. I specialize in one of a kind and limited quantity pieces at surprisingly low prices.

My creations are often what I call "dance inspired". They reflect my Turkish roots as well as other global influences. My other inspirations include my love of performing, my fascination with pop culture, fashion of the past and the present, nature, the arts, world history, and philosophy.

I love jewelry that adds to the beauty of the wearer, not just jewelry that’s beautiful on its own. In other words, it should look even more beautiful on the person wearing it than it does in the display case. I think the smallest details can make the biggest difference (belly dancing and jewelry are very similar that way :)...)

I also believe in everyday glamour. Adornment is a way of showing appreciation for the precious and temporary gift that is our body. Taking time to enjoy beautiful things is part of living each moment to the fullest.
