Celebrating Motherhood!

I guess my story begins with the birth of my first child. There's always sort of that "before" and "after" when you have kids. In my case, EVERYTHING in my life changed. My view of the world, of myself, of what I believed about life and how to raise children.

A huge part of all of my births has been the involvement of a doula and midwives. They have become part of my family, and have opened up a whole new world of birthing and motherhood that I wouldn't have known about otherwise.

As a gift to my doula before the birth of my twins, I made a pregnant belly-shaped whistle that she could use during birth classes at the hospital. She like it so much that she encouraged me to try to sell them, and eventually Belly-rinas was born.

My inspiration comes from moments during my own births and from others, as well as those intimate moments with my children as I am humbled to be able to learn from them.

Though my art isn't detailed and accurate, I hope to capture the FEELING of an act or event or emotion. Like a photograph, my sculptures elicit memories and remind us of how precious our loved ones are.

My favorite moments as a designer are when customers write me to tell me how a piece has moved them to tears, or caused their spouse to light up with a smile. THAT is the motivation that keeps me going when I struggle with thought of not being good enough or wondering if this is what I am meant to be doing.

I hope someday to become a post-partum doula, and so continue my journey in helping women and their relationships with their children.

Welcome to the birth and motherhood art of Bellyrinas! I have felt such empowerment from my own births and as a mother that I want to share the experience with others. By creating pieces that echo the beauty of birth, or reminding a mother of the sweet relationship she has with her little ones, I connect with my customers on an emotional level, and I'd love to hear how my art has enriched your life or how your gift has touched someone else.

Accepted payment methods

Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
I will offer refunds in the case of receiving broken items or if the item is grossly different than what you thought I had described. I would prefer, however, to deliver a high quality item to you, and if possible I will offer a replacement or other compensation over a refund.
Payment
I accept payments up front for custom orders. At the time of completion, if you are not happy with the sculpture or piece, we can either negotiate another piece, or I will offer you a partial refund. If a piece is broken in the firing process, but you needed it by a certain dead-line, I can offer a full refund. If you change your mind after requesting a custom piece, I will only offer a partial refund due to the labor costs.
Shipping
I usually ship priority mail in the US, except for the smaller items like pendants, which are sent first class. International orders are shipped first class, as well, though if you would like to pay more for priority I can certainly do so. Any shipping option is available if you are willing to pay up front - just let me know!

I also combine shipping with multiple orders, though now that I switched to calculated shipping, it won't show up when you order. I WILL combine shipping and give you a refund once I ship and know the actual cost at that point. I can also set up a custom listing if you want with an estimated combined shipping cost, and then refund from there if necessary.
Additional policies and FAQs
For wholesale, I request that you order at least 10 or more items, at 60% of their regular cost.
