disappointed is not an accurate description however it is what the programmed rating scale provides as the lowest option Sankofa The Way Sankofa is not The Way of lies Sankofa is not The Way of renegers Sankofa is not the way of one who takes offense of their dishonesty being called out This seller agreed to refund me then reneged -- why -- because as is the nature of hypocrisy to utilize and even sale a symbol of integrity this seller went back on her word Such hypocrisy, and sorry business practice, I would not participate in the future --therefore I do not want her store credit -- Additionally, I would not send this energy on to another customer to be deceived by the miss use of symbols of honor A seller of the symbols of The Way are not necessarily of The Way

Do you know how on Etsy, many sellers will state in their store guidelines that they reserve the right to refuse service to nasty customers? As a seller, I advice you this is one of them. This woman never once gave me a chance to fix any problem b/c she never, EVER told me whst I could do to help her be content. The rest of her words are a vicious misrepresentation of this experience. As a Seller, I advice all sellers AND if she evers tries to sell anything, I would advice ALL to avoid ANY transactions with this person ever again. My track record with the rest of my beautiful clients will have to speak for itself. I refuse to even acknowledge the rest of this vitriolic banter. Thank you for the experience of "you", it was definitely a teachable moment.

The magic of the MsTree...

One of the greatest days of my adult life was the first time I held a piece of clay in my hands. This was in the spring of 2005. It was indeed, for me, a magical moment...

At the time I was in my mid- 30's and having worked a string of jobs that left me unsatisfied, I challenged myself to discover what exactly it was that I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

I was seeking a career path that would allow me to enjoy working to the end of my days, one that I would not grow weary of or outgrow once I had "mastered" it. You see, unlike most I was not interested in retirement. I wanted a "job" that would allow me to die still attempting to learn and evolve right up to my last breath.

That is what I found in clay. From the first day of our relationship, I feel we have been in sync. Clay offers me a chance to experiment, to challenge myself everyday. But I also enjoy working in bronze and other metals as well as with fabric, plaster and other mediums. The central theme in my work is the feminine as a creative source, but I have not found a limit to how much I can express myself via sculpture in general.

I enjoy creating objects that defy the normal associations that people have with ceramics. For example, that it has to be functional. While I do also create functional pieces, for me, it is about creating a thing of beauty, but one that absolutely refuses to be chained to a singular perspective. I enjoy working in all scales, from the miniscule ( pieces that are 2" tall) to the massive (6' tall). Each has its own unique issues that must be addressed.

My work defies gravity, I create tall pieces or extremely thin and delicate organic forms that require large doses of magic and patience to make it from the clay stage to the kiln. Sometimes it takes, hours, days and even weeks to complete a sculpture. Often, like one of my creative influences, Andy Goldsworthy, the pieces do not make it on the first, second or even third attempt. But I persevere and eventually, well USUALLY, success follows.

My MsTrees series has been the primary area of focus for me for the last 7 years; although I also just generally enjoy making sculpture that speaks to the love and affection, the strength and determination of the human spirit.

My ladies are a union of all the best characteristics I have found in common between trees and women. Nurturing, protective, reproductive, strong and resilient these are what the MsTrees represent to me and what I seek to share with the world.

On the other end of the spectrum, my magnets come from the place where my art started originally. Initially, I used the easiest tools accessible to growing artists so understandably, I worked in pen, pencil, markers, paints and such and I used the computer to bring them together. I sought to create a line of inspirational magnets for a market I felt was lacking a very diverse representation of life as I knew it. Rather than complain, I resolved the issue. I'm proud to say that my magnets have been inspiring others for over 15 years now and they have definitely evolved as I have grown.

Sooo, thank you for taking the time to visit my store and I pray you find something here that makes you smile. And the next time you pass a tree, keep an eye out- you may be blessed to see the figure of a woman or two, or three or four or even more, dancing through the leaves and branches!

Additional policies and FAQs
As of right now, due to the fragile nature in which the sculptures are created, Beloved Enterprises works of art are not intended for children. The works of art are easily breakable and contain many sharp edges. They must therefore be handled with extreme care, love and affection and displayed in a safe environment. They are for decorative purposes only and should not be used as toys.

In addition, it is the responsibility of the buyer and/or owner to ensure that items used as incense burners and or candle holders will be used on non-flammable surfaces in such a way as to protect the environments in which they will be used. As we are not able to control the environments they are sold to Beloved Enterprises will not be responsible for any decision to use such items in any way that could jeopardize the object's surroundings.

Beloved Enterprises reserves the right to refuse a sale to anyone with a history of abusive feedback and/or malicious behavior towards other Etsy members.
