Such a pretty view. Feels like I'm sitting on a deck on a lakeside deck. Very nice.

About

Passion of Art & Business

Located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, the landscape artist Benjamin Argall creates paintings of his surroundings that demand one’s attention with a playful use of color, shapes and lines.

The birch series works to provide audiences a sense of being in the woods and evoke memories, such as camping, fishing, hunting or canoeing. These are memories that the artist has with his family camp. Similarly, the studio’s flower series is derived from the artist’s memories of daffodils or black-eyed-susan’s.

Blue Mohawk Studio is a combination of the artist’s passions for business and art. Created November 2011, work from the studio has been well received in over seven countries and three continents.

Benjamin Argall has been painting since the age of 10. Self-taught but also mentored by local artists, Argall uses art to reflect some of his memories and reflect on those, and additionally let audiences come to terms with their own memories.

Benjamin studied finance at Northern Michigan University and New England College of Business and Finance. Expected to graduate Northern Michigan University in 2013 with an associates degree in applied science with a concentration of art and design.

Benjamin started at a young age winning local contests but while in high school got an honorable mention for the Junior Duck Stamp Competition. He has also shown in many local galleries for juried exhibits. He also co-founded a local art gallery called Cielo Gallery in 2003 with another local art enthusiast, Amy (Hodgins) Lerlie. During his high school years Benjamin managed the spirit store and ran a profitable screen printing company that combined his artistic talents with the retail environment. Benjamin was recently an art and advertising director for the e-mag Art on Ice featuring artists of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Benjamin continues to follow his dreams from all of his previous work experiences in banking, finance, retail, and art to make Blue Mohawk Studio a success.
