Thank you for stopping by my shop! I’m Stacey Hanlon and I am the sole owner, designer and maker at Bent Metal Craftworks. I’ve been a part of the maker and e-commerce communities for many years, but hand-wrapped gemstone headbands are a new design that I created to solve a very specific problem.

One day, my mom, who danced Argentinian tango at the time, was explaining to me that she was having a terrible time finding hair accessories that worked for her. She had short hair, but still needed something to hold her hair back off her face in a sweaty dance hall. She showed me two large baskets of hair accessories that she had purchased over the years. After combing through a sea of crushed artificial flowers and bands that slid around, I decided to make something that worked and still looked super cute while doing its job.

After trying a few different designs, I found a quirky-looking wire toothed headband frame, developed a way to securely wrap it with gemstones, and gave it to my mom for testing. It worked! And looked gorgeous! And she wanted two more! I thought maybe there were others out there who were also looking for a hair accessory that stayed in place and didn’t require regular hairdo touch-ups.

These headbands were just too good to keep to myself and I set out to create high-performance headbands for fashion warriors that need functional beauty.

I released my first handmade gemstone headband product line in November 2017 and the response has been pure love from everyone who has tried them. I continue to work hard to bring you both classic, timeless pieces for effortless wardrobe styling and pieces that follow the latest trends for when you feel like adding something special to your attire.
