These highly collectible miniatures are hand turned on my wood lathe. Each is unique and made one at a time so no two will ever be exactly alike.
I like to use different materials to create these delicate turnings. They may be made from exotic or domestic wood or other natural materials such as palm nuts and seeds. I also make them from man-made materials like laminated or stabilized wood, acrylics, plastics, and even polymer clay. Some are coaxed from soapstone, alabaster, or other natural stone. I am always searching for new materials for creating these delightful little works of art.
I make many sizes, but my first love is the "dollhouse miniature" sizes. Small turnings are a challenge to make yet they are quite easy to display. They make wonderful keepsakes and pleasing, affordable collections. They seem to make almost everyone smile and want to touch them! Most of the ones found here will fit into one of the standard dollhouse miniature scales: 1:12, 1:24, 1:48, or 1:6. Occasionally, I will offer some for sale in larger or smaller sizes, including life size.
I am an active member of the American Association of Woodturners (AAW), An Artisan Member of the International Guild Miniature Artisians (IGMA), Custom Dolls Houses & Miniatures (CDHM), and several other miniature related groups and organizations.
My miniatures have been used by other mini artists in their creative floral displays and some have been used as props for articles in various publications and magazines of interest to miniaturists.
My tiny turnings, and I, were the subject of an article, "The Mini Art Of The Lathe," that was published in AMERICAN MINIATURIST magazine, issue #72, in April 2009.
Thank you for looking at my items and I hope you find something you like!
