bessmess is taking a short break

I am going to take an indefinite break from etsy to focus on spending time with my little one & painting furniture. Check back periodically, cause there is no telling what creations I will be into next.

These are so gorgeous ! The containers are stunning works of art ! I feel so pretty pulling one out of my purse and having on display. The colours are lovely and buildable. Thank you so much, would love to order more.

A big disappointment. Too greasy for cheeks and leaves no visible tiny on lips. I have used other alkanet tinted balms before and gotten gorgeous color, but these unfortunately don't offer any color. I regret my purchase. Two stars since the ingredients are healthy.

I will give this two stars for the good ingredients, but this did not live up to my expectations. It is incredibly greasy on cheeks, yet leaves no color on lips. I regret my purchase.

About

bessmess is where practical meets pretty, natural & organic

bessmess started when my papa labeled all of my childhood "work papers" as bessmess.
From then on, any craft I was making was known as bessmess to all.
I started on Etsy with scarves, then moved on to felt food, and now I am excited to be making tinted balms & salves featuring my own art in the labels.

I start by a cold infusion of herbs into my oil.
Then I mix all of the ingredients including the natural dyes, roots & seeds.
I make small batches as a time.
Design a label with my watercolored art to represent the shade or ingredients in the product.
Add a coating of resin on the tinted balms for a more polished look.

My newest endeavor of tinted balms started with the beauty of a beet & is an accumulation of 5 years of science lab classes, 10+ years of professional makeup artistry, living through a period of severe chemical sensitivity, & the desire to spend time with my little one.
