I've found a fantastic hobby in candle-making.

Damn that Pinterest. First, it got me hooked on the idea of cutting bottles. All you had to do was light string on fire and put it out with an ice cube or something insane like that, and it was supposed to work. Right? What could go wrong? I started researching different ways to cut bottles, and finally found a device that would help me. What to do with these cut bottles, then?

When I was 10, I had decided to make a candle. I think it consisted of me putting some yarn in a juice glass, heating the wax in a pot that was in direct contact with the heat source, and heating it way too hot. The result was glass explosion, a scar on my wrist, and some scorch marks on the ceiling (did you know you shouldn't put a wax fire out with water? Yeah, I didn't know that either...).

My 27 year-old self decided to try candle-making again. It would be a fantastic use for the bottles, and the scent/bottle combinations were endless. This was a project I could really sink my teeth into.

My first candles were in Starbucks Frappuccino bottles. After that, jam jars. Finally, I perfected the art of bottle-cutting, and started having fun. Eventually, though, I had too many candles for myself and my family, and I was spending too much money on supplies. How could I afford this awesome new hobby, and get rid of some candles at the same time? Thus, B's Wax was born.

I tossed around a few different shop names - "Boozewax" "Beerswax" "B's Wix" before I settled on the current name.

I'm so happy to share my hobby with the Etsy community, and I hope you enjoy my candles!

If you are unhappy with your order, please message me and hopefully we can work something out :)

I accept custom orders! If there is a particular scent or bottle you are interested in purchasing, let me know. I have a large number of bottles (and have a supplier who lets me have my pick!), so I can obtain just about anything you're looking for.

I offer a 20% discount for wholesale orders of 5 or more. My candles make great centerpieces for wedding receptions, birthday parties, and other large events. They also make great Christmas presents for those relatives you never know what to buy ;) (we all have them!)
