Beth Gaertner Flameworked Glass Jewelry

Boston, Massachusetts 5 Sales On Etsy since 2007

Announcement   I've been having a great time working with glass and silver for over 13 years now. What's not to like about playing with fire?

I create all of my glass beads and most of my sterling silver elements at my studio in Somerville, MA. Everything's done by hand by me--no casting, no molds, no shortcuts. I anneal all of my beads in a kiln for durability, and test all of my jewelry designs to ensure that they can withstand frequent wear.

Most of my listings are for Made to Order pieces-- you will receive a piece just like the one listed that I will make especially for you. This may take an extra day or two, but isn't it special to get something custom made? If you need your purchase right away, please contact me to make sure that I can get it in the mail to you on time.

If you have any other questions about my work, feel free to contact me! I can easily do custom color combinations, custom sizes, or make other design alterations so you end up with the perfect piece.

Additional policies and FAQs
Caring for your Jewelry:

While I do a lot of testing to make sure that my designs are sturdy and can handle regular wear, glass is a somewhat fragile medium. Treat your jewelry with common sense--don't toss a necklace in the bottom of your purse with your car keys, and excercise caution around tiled bathroom floors--and the two of you should have a long and happy life together.

As for the silver elements, like any piece of silver your jewelry may tarnish over time. One of the best ways to fight off tarnish is to wear your jewelry frequently!
Storing your jewelry in a ziploc-style bag helps as well.
If you do need to clean your jewelry, I recommend making a paste of baking soda and water and rubbing it with your finger or a soft cloth over any tarnished spots. Make sure to rinse the piece off thoroughly, and let it dry before putting it away.

A few additional bits of information about my jewelry:

Everything is sterling silver and soda-lime ("soft") glass, unless otherwise marked.

I use 20 gauge wire for all my earrings, and most people find that this is a comfortable size for them. If you need something smaller, let me know--it may be possible depending on the design.

Necklaces are 16 or 18 inches, 20 inch lengths may be available on request.

Prefer the snake chain over the beaded chain? A snake chain can be substituted for an additional $10.

Rubber earring stoppers are available on request.
