Announcement   I won't be taking any new commission work until September. That will allow me to get through the work already on my bench plus make new work to post here! -Betsy

I'm happy to offer LAY-AWAY, don't hesitate to ask...
One of a kind, artisan jewelry. Hand fabricated in silver and gold, featuring agates, jaspers, pearls and semi precious stones. I've been a full time metalsmith and jewelry maker for the past 30 years and still love what I do. I hope you will too!

About

in the beginning...

I've always loved making things, and from the start, art class was simply the best part of the school day for me. But when I got to college I tried everything. Alongside art classes I was dabbling in biology, astronomy, even auto mechanics... and eventually chose to major in Anthropology with an Art minor. What I ended up with, after 5 years, was a degree in Art History.

My career path took shape in the metals department of the Oregon College of Art and Craft, where I was searching for something that would satisfy my desire to make things and my tendency to be detail oriented. It took several years and lots of patience before I finally felt that I had found my place.

Over the years, my work has come to focus on the stones that I love, the non-precious stones, the jaspers and agates. Every now and then I think " hmm, maybe I should have majored in geology...".

The bottom line is, I love what I do, and look forward to getting into my studio every morning.

Frequently asked questions

Using customer supplied stones

In most cases, I'm willing to use customer supplied stones in custom orders, and the utmost care will be used in working with them. However, the customer assumes the risk for the stone. Pricing for work with customer supplied stones is going to be slightly higher then my usual pricing.
