there are no words to describe the delight upon the delivery of this lovely See Urchin! we are going to have our fireplace mantle redone in the fall and I believe this will have a special place made just for it to live. Beautiful, but then again I knew it would be!
My First Drawing
After 20 years of working with beads as an artist I decided to open an Etsy shop. Etsy allows me to reach out to the planet. It's a good thing.
When I was a little over one year of age my mother accidentally left a marker uncapped. I grabbed the marker and started drawing on a marble table in our home when my mom wasn't looking. Apparently there was something aesthetically pleasing about my scribbles. That's when this crazy life of being an artist started. It's a journey I continue to this day at age 49. Often filled with doubt at my life choice, I have to remember that the early child in me knew what I was here to do.....
Betsy Youngquist started applying beads to the surface of her watercolor paintings over twenty years ago. Today the artist is nationally and internationally recognized for her innovative sculptural mosaics using beads.
Scott Long sculpts many of the underlying forms in Betsy's art. Betsy and Scott have worked on and off as a creative team for over 15 years. Scott received his BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in Milwaukee, WI in the early 1990's.
My work can be seen locally and internationally in museums and galleries. I also travel throughout the United States exhibiting at fine art and craft shows.
